Killer recipes to appease warm-blooded guests as well as those centuries past their prime

Campfire Publishing is excited to announce that we are currently accepting submissions for, “Let the Right One Simmer, Volume 1”, the first volume in our horror-themed cookbook collection!

Please read below to ensure that your story will be a good fit, and feel free to reach out to us–via the form located on our main page or by sending an email to info@aaronkcrocker.com–if you have any questions.

What are we looking for?

From main course to after dinner drinks, we are on the lookout for a range of recipes served with a side of blood-curdling backstories ranging from 5,000-8,000 words.

Campfire Publishing is keeping its eye out for a wide range of chilling voices accompanied by food that’s to-die for, from seasoned (pun intended!) to novice-we LOVE publishing and supporting newer writers!

We want twists and turns, thrills and chills; make us want to sleep with the lights turned on at night; most important, make us hungry!

What are we NOT looking for?

Erotica.

A.I. Generated Material.

Important Information: **PLEASE READ AS WE ARE UPDATING FOR CLARIFICATION**

-Each story MUST have a recipe attached at the end of the story OR in a separate file.

-The recipe can be used IN the story, or it can utilize a food, drink, or spice within the story. EXAMPLE: Chocolate can be central to the story and the recipe could be anything from homemade cholate, ganache, homemade vegan chocolate, chocolate cake, chocolate chip cookies, etc.

-The recipe at the end of the story (the one the readers can use) must be viable. EXAMPLE: Maybe your character uses human parts to make a dish. Totally cool for the story! Not so cool in real life–So we ask that you replace those parts in the ATTACHED RECIPE with real ingredients that won’t land anyone in prison or cause harm to others.

-You CAN submit multiple recipes. We will accept up to FIVE stories with recipes per author.

-We will not accept multiples of the same recipe. For example: We will NOT accept two recipes for “Brownies” but would accept a recipe for “Brownies” and a recipe for something such as “Hot Lava Brownie Cake”.

-We will accept a range of recipes from Appetizers, Main Course, Side Dishes, Desserts, Punches, Cocktails

“Eat Your Heart Out, Volume 1” Submissions

 June 10, 2024-September 15, 2024

‘Love is patient’, lurking behind a pristine row of bushes; keeping vigilant watch, being certain to narrow the timing down to the exact second the living room lamp shuts off and the shades pulled. Love turns a copy of the house key around and around in a gloved hand.

‘Love is kind’ of expensive sometimes— when all is said and done, often the price is grief, security, emotions, possessions, or even our very lives…

Campfire Publishing is excited to announce that we are currently accepting submissions for, “Eat Your Heart Out, Volume 1”, the first in our collection of Valentine’s themed horror stories!

Please read below to ensure that your story will be a good fit, and feel free to reach out to us–via the form located on our main page or by sending an email to info@aaronkcrocker.com–if you have any questions.

Campfire Publishing is keeping its eye out for a wide range of chilling voices from seasoned to novice that offer unique perspectives into the often frightening world of “love”.

We want twists and turns, thrills and chills; make us want to sleep with the lights turned on at night. Show us excitement, culture, and blood-curdling screams!

What are we NOT looking for?
